A widely known island, the beautiful oasis that is Tahiti attracts visitors from the world over, all of which are in search of one thing- an island escape. Luckily, an escape like this doesn't have to drain your bank account. In fact, there are resorts on the island that offer luxury rooms at a more attainable price.

The InterContinental Tahiti falls within this category with luxury touches at every turn. These luxuries include a private beach, dining options right on-site, tennis, a spa, a gym, and diving centre. In each overwater villa you'll find Wi-Fi, an entertainment center, and much, much more. The location of the resort also makes it a winner. If you don't like the idea of having to travel from island to island with seaplanes and speedboats, then this resort, with rates starting out at just US$560 per night for two people, is a great choice.

The Details

The last time we looked at a deal for the InterContinental Tahiti resort, it was during the month of December. This time, we’re looking at a deal for the month of June, with a lower nightly rate. In fact, this particular nightly rate is at the bottom range of low season prices, meaning that you really are getting a great deal. Luckily there are no major holidays during June like there are in December, which makes it so that you have a wider range of dates to look at throughout the month.

Small apartment styled rooms

There are 32 rooms situated over the water at this resort, though one of them is in a field its own as it is twice the size of the others. Though there is a difference in size, the amenities and features are all the same. These amenities include room service, Wi-Fi, and an entertainment system that’s made up of a satellite TV.

Other features include a private terrace that provides views of the ocean, an indoor sitting area, a living room, dining area, sofa bed and a bathroom that harbors its own TV. You’ll also find a refrigerator, a hanging closet for your clothes and luggage, and a work desk. With all of these separate areas, you’ll find that each room resembles more of an apartment than a standard hotel room.

A diving centre, private beach, tennis, and more

If you’re just as interested in the rest of the resort as you are each room, then you’ll love hearing that the resort caters with 2 restaurants and a bar, right on-site. This means that you won’t have to venture out of the resort to eat if you don’t want to. With that said, there are lots of dining options close by if you’re curious. In addition to the dining selection, there is also an on-site spa. This spa also pleases with a fitness centre and views of the lagoon.

The InterContinental Tahiti resort also provides a private beach, tennis courts, a gift shop, a newsstand, 2 swimming pools and a diving centre.

  1. Interested in an over the water bungalow. We would like to be able to snorkel off of the bungalow. Suggestions??????????????????

    1. Gail,

You can snorkel off the deck at almost every overwater bungalow in the world, except for a few of the cheaper options in Malaysia. That said, the best snorkeling in those same areas is usually done with a boat trip to a nearby reef. Since the bungalows are mostly over clear lagoons, there isn’t as much to see right under the bungalow itself. -Roger

    1. Cynthia,

These photos are off the official resort websites, and some of those are offered in high resolution, but only a few of them. The resorts own the images as well. -Roger

        1. Philip,

The plumbing is built in just below the floor. These rooms have everything, including A/C and cable TV, not to mention showers and baths. -Roger
