people consider the French Polynesian island of Bora Bora to be the single most beautiful place on earth. While it's obviously impossible to prove that, Bora Bora is so special that it even looks gorgeous from the satellite view. With that in mind, we've made a map showing the exact locations of all the over water bungalow resorts in Bora Bora.

When you are looking at it keep in mind that in the center of the main island you'll find a tall volcanic mountain, which is visible from just about every resort in the area. This alone makes for spectacular views and unforgettable photo opportunities, but the clear-blue lagoon water that is also clearly visible from this satellite view also looks fantastic in person and in images.

Nine Bora Bora overwater resorts to choose from

Have a look at the map below and you’ll notice 9 different resorts located on Bora Bora and its outer motus (mini-islands). In the southwest you’ll find the Bora Bora resort the Kardashian family stayed in during April 2011, also known as the Hilton Bora Bora Nui Resort.

The second resort down on the right side of the map is the St. Regis Bora Bora Resort, which is generally considered the finest of them all in the South Pacific. The most affordable overwater bungalows in Bora Bora can be found at the Sofitel Bora Bora Resort, which is the third one from the southern tip on the main island itself.

More resorts in the South Pacific

If you move the map down and to the right a bit you’ll find 3 more resorts on nearby islands, which are all similar and fabulous. If you zoom out much more you’ll find the locations of all the resorts in MooreaTahiti, and throughout the South Pacific.

    1. Srijan,

My best budget recommendation in the Maldives continues to be Meeru Island. It has excellent and large water villas (most with Jacuzzis) at a very fair price. It’s also a larger island so they offer just about everything that all the other islands do, yet it never feels crowded. -Roger
