One of the most popular overwater resorts in the South Pacific, the InterContinental Moorea Resort & Spa combines excellent service with an affordable price compared to the 5-star resorts on nearby Bora Bora. This is a large resort for the region, with a great abundance of activities available, both at the hotel and nearby.
The overwater bungalows at the InterContinental Moorea Resort are each perched just off small islands in the lagoon, and the Premium Overwater Bungalows have the best sunset views. Still, this hotel is great value and is well located so that guests can easily get to nearby restaurants or other activities with minimum cost and hassle.
The InterContinental Moorea Resort is now closed until further notice.
The InterContinental Moorea Resort & Spa is located on the north shore of the island of Moorea, which is just over 10 miles from Tahiti in the South Pacific.
Hélène’s Spa is a full-service luxury facility on site.
To reach the InterContinental Moorea Resort & Spa you must first fly to Tahiti and then either board a very short flight to nearby Moorea or take a ferry from the main port in the city of Pape’ete. Once in Moorea you’ll be met by hotel staff for private ground transportation to the resort itself.
The InterContinental Moorea Resort & Spa gets solid and positive reviews, which you’d expect from an InterContinental resort. Nearly all past guests report great rooms and excellent service, plus an abundance of on-site activities. Food gets good marks as well, though some point out that there is basically no nightlife available aside from one quiet bar, so this resort may not be ideal for party people.
With that said, there are a few negatives cited by a few guests. One such negative is that there may be a few ‘less than ideal’ minor problems in the rooms, such as a leaking shower.
