Formerly known as the Coral Palms Island Resort, this place is actually southwest of the main island of New Caledonia, and accessed by the resort's own boat which makes 7 trips to the mainland per day. The setting is ideal, but there are fewer activities here compared to most other South Pacific overwater resorts, and the service doesn't get glowing reviews.

To reach the DoubleTree by Hilton Noumea Ilot Maitre Resort you’ll need to fly to New Caledonia from either Paris, Auckland, or Australia. Once there you’ll transfer to the harbour for a 25-minute boat trip to the island on their private yacht.
Reviews of theDoubleTree by Hilton Noumea Ilot Maitre Resort are quite mixed, to put it kindly. Nearly everyone loves the setting on the private island stating that it’s peaceful, plus the rooms themselves, but complaints about the service from the French staff are very common, as are complaints about the high prices and ordinary quality of the food.
High prices for food at private-island resorts are the norm, but overall the service here seems to be below par compared to most other overwater-bungalow resorts.
